Astros rookie David Paulino suspended 80 games for positive PED test

While the number of pitchers the Mariners and Reds have lost this season to the DL, it has been overlooked how many starters the Astros have lost as well.

The Astros have been hit hard this year in their starting rotation, they just got hit a bit harder. Major League Baseball announced Saturday that Astros’ rookie David Paulino was suspended 80 games for a positive test for the performance enhancing drug Boldenone.

Griffin has played in just 96 games during the last two seasons, but did average 21.6 points and 8.1 rebounds per game last season in 61 games.

Gibson, 32, joins former Chicago Bulls teammate Jimmy Butler, who came to the Timberwolves in a trade last month. Dallas Keuchel, Lance McCullers, Charlie Morton and Collin McHugh have all spent time on the disabled list this year while Joe Musgrove has been so bad he has been demoted to Triple A.

Yet this season, the outfielder has struggled, slashing .171/.295/.378, with 12 homers and 75 strikeouts in 64 games. The slump was magnified by the fact he began the year batting leadoff.
