MLB trade rumors: Talks stalling between Yankees, A’s for Sonny Gray

Sonny Gray was supposed to be in pinstripes by Friday, but it now appears a potential trade of the right-handed pitcher is going to come down to Monday’s 4 p.m. ET trade deadline.

It’s no guarantee he will be headed to New York.

According to the New York Post, talks between the Yankees and A’s appear to be at a standstill as Yankees general manager Brian Cashman is unwilling to part ways with elite prospects Gleyber Torres and Clint Frazier. As a result, Oakland vice president of baseball operations Billy Beane believes Cashman should be more willing to trade a number of the Yankees’ next tier of prospects, the report says.

While in the suite, Eckersley was shown on the Fenway videoboard in the middle of the third inning of Boston’s 12-10 win and the crowd gave him a huge ovation.
