Josh Gordon aims for NFL return once rehab stint ends, trainer says

Josh Gordon’s return to the NFL is on the horizon, according to his trainer, former Olympian Tim Montgomery.

Gordon is completing a rehab stint and is expected to get out Sept. 21. From there, he will be working with Montgomery for another shot in the NFL.

The wideout, who was suspended indefinitely after violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy for the third time, had his bid for reinstatement denied in May. However, Montgomery said Gordon wants to prove to the league that he is serious about getting his life back on track.

“He’s been clean, so we’re hoping after 90 days he’s reinstated and they put him back in the league, which it looks like they’re going to do that,” Montgomery told Cleveland.com.
